Chinaware: A delicate ornament.
A family heirloom. A seasonal fixture.
A tool with which to entertain,
destined for handling and
holding by the fortunate few.
I projected images of chinaware onto my skin and photographed these moments, depicting objectification of the female form. While my body is obligated to mimic these precise forms, the projections simultaneously highlighted the “other,” the features that lie outside of the projection, outside of the pristine porcelain designs.
